Oyster and Mushroom Dressing

Oyster & Mushroom Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound Giblets
  • 4 cups dressing cubes
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup onions -- finely chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms -- chopped
  • 1/3 cup celery -- chopped
  • 1/4 cup parsley -- finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Oysters -- chopped

Instructions

  • Chop: Giblets
  • Melt: 1/4 cup butter
  • Add: Chopped onions, mushrooms and giblets and saute for 2 minutes
  • Combine: Saute mixture
  • 4 cups dressing cubes (or day old bread)
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/3 cup celery
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Chopped oysters
  • Oyster stock to barely moisten
  • Stir: Until just combined and you're ready to stuff your fowl.
